The book that changed everything for me. A reflection on creativity, the challenges we face, and the gift of embracing our creative desires. Read it here...
You are so right Louise. Everything has its time, but I also think everyone has their time, if you just keep looking (or showing up).
You told me about this book a couple of years ago and I diligently worked my way through it, and I loved doing so.
Did it transform my life?
Well not immediately. But it began the process of changing my focus and the way I see the world. And that is the key. Perhaps before I read this book I didn't even know where to look. Now I really do and low and behold opportunities are presenting themselves in a way I would never have thought possible even a year ago.
Oh Jason, I'm so thrilled to read this. Yes I also agree that we all have our own time. Often when I've felt anxious or stressed about something, it would either not happen at all, or not happen in the way that I thought it would. To the point that this relaxation and surrendering has become a way for me to understand when the right time is for me. And when things eventually do manifest, it's far better than you could have ever imagined because it feels like it absolutely was meant for you at that point in time. It's so crucial not to compare our journey with other people's (especially hard in this online world). Out of everything Julia Cameron shares in this book, what was most useful for you in your process?
Although I read the whole book and did the exercises diligently, a lot of them did not resonate with me at all. However the last chapter on faith really made an impact.
There is a quote there from Andre Gide which I remembered.
"One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time".

That's a difficult question to answer.

I guess I can see the shore now 😁
